The Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW) has demonstrated the generation of continuous wave (CW) green radiation with an output power of 1kW and an unprecedented optical efficiency of up to 51.6% with respect to diode pump power. This was enabled by the use of a low-loss LBO crystal provided by Cristal Laser together with the integration of a highly efficient grating waveguide structure (with a diffraction efficiency >99.8%) for the stabilization of both the polarization and the wavelength.
