The publication „High-quality high-throughput silicon laser milling using a 1 kW sub-picosecond laser“ which resulted from a successful cooperation of the IFSW with the partners from Bosch Research, Lasea, and Amplitude has been awarded the Publication Prize of the University of Stuttgart. This award recognizes outstanding publications from each of the 10 faculties of the University of Stuttgart.
The winning paper reports on the first demonstration of material processing with sub-ps laser pulses at the kW power level. Both, the high-power ultrafast laser and the corresponding processing strategy were developed at the IFSW.
