A mode-locked thin-disk laser oscillator with the promising laser crystal Yb:CAlGO was demonstrated for the first time at the IFSW in collaboration with the Institut d´Optique of the Université Paris Sud. At an average output power of 28 W the oscillator generated pulses with a duration of 300 fs at a repetition rate of 23 MHz. At 20 W of output power the pulse duration was 197 fs. The laser exhibited a broad wavelength tuneability ranging from 1032 nm to 1046 nm.
