More funding for community industrial research

October 3, 2014

Industrial Community Research (IGF) is currently experiencing an unprecedented boom in applications. In order to be able to support the most important projects for medium-sized businesses, the IGF urgently needs an increase in funds to 158.5 million euros in the 2015 financial year. Instead of the necessary increase, however, the IGF threatens to cut funding by 4 million euros from 138.5 million euros to 134.5 million euros because of a global reduction in expenditure to finance the support money. This reduction would contradict the declared goal of the Federal Government in the coalition agreement to strengthen SMEs in innovation and to make an additional 3 billion euros available for research and education. Then the funds should reach precisely the point where they reach small and medium-sized enterprises with a unique broad effect - in the IGF!

The IGF therefore urgently needs a financial increase of 20 million euros from 138.5 million euros to 158.5 million euros in the 2015 federal budget, adapted to current requirements!
