Modernization of the control of the Kugler-Microbase processing station

April 10, 2017 /

The Precision Machining group of the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW) is happy to announce the modernization of one of their processing stations. Within this modernization the safety concept was improved, newest interfaces were implemented, the control of the axis, the processing laser, the scanner systems, and the helical drilling optics was combined in one powerful CNC, and the performance of the total system was increased. Axis based processes with a speed of 2 m/min with an accuracy of <1 µm are now possible. This modernization is an important step towards a sustainable development of the Precision Machining group. We thank our technicians for the realization of this modernization and the University of Stuttgart for providing the funding.
